The Parish Council seeks a Clerk. This post is part-time, involving 6 hours per week on average. It is home-based, with monthly Wednesday evening meetings in Corston (currently via Zoom).

Five Lanes Solar Farm

A planning application will be submitted shortly for a solar farm on land within the boundaries of the three parishes of Charlton, St Paul Without and Brokenborough. As the application is a major one the consultation period will be 13 weeks. Brief details of the proposal are contained in the attachment to this notice, more detailed information will be available once the application goes out to public consultation.

A429/C1 Junction at Hullavington

Griffiths, the civil engineering contractor tasked with the construction of this link road and 2 x roundabouts, will produce regular newsletters to keep motorists informed of their work programme. The first newsletter is available on parish notice boards or Liaison Officer 0330 041 4637. The work programme extends from mid-July until Spring 2021.  

Chippenham Road Playing Field

Over the next week or so contractors employed by the parish council will be removing vegetation from the boundary of the Chippenham Road playing field. This is the first stage of a project to examine the condition of the boundary walls/fences and consider refurbishment as necessary to secure the perimeter. Further detail about future plans will be posted on the website.

Auto Speed Watch

In conjunction with the Malmesbury Area Board StPWPC, and five other local parish councils, have commenced a pilot to test the effectiveness and efficiency of Auto Speed Watch equipment. This equipment is designed to replace/supplement the activity currently undertaken by police-trained volunteers. It is situated along the B4042 at Cowbridge and will be operational during daylight hours. The speed restriction on this stretch of road is 30mph.
